Nitrate Cancer Risk

This application investigates the spatial relationship between nitrate levels and cancer rates in Wisconsin. Nitrate levels are measured as part of well water quality tests. Cancer occurrences were catalogued over a ten year period.

Interpolation weight

Set the IDW interpolation distance decay coefficient k. A high value means closer neighbors will have more importance. Values should be greater than 1.

The regression results layer shows the output of a linear regression between the interpolated nitrate values and the cancer rates. The residual shows where the regression results were higher or lower than actual cancer rates.
